About the Event
Sanctioned by: Saskatchewan Powerlifting Association All Canadian Powerlifting Union (CPU)/International Powerlifting Federation (IPF) rules apply. Competitors: This event is open to any SPA/CPU member. This meet will follow all provincial or national health guidelines for Covid-19 regulations. This means depending on current situation at the meet masks, proof of vaccination, and/or social distancing may be required. Updates on requirements will be sent to athletes ahead of time, if any lifter refuses to follow guidelines during the event they will be removed from the meet and not refunded. The Saskatchewan Powerlifting Association will be following the IPF Covid Guidelines for all meets in the province. A detailed schedule of sessions will be sent to registered athletes after the entry deadline. Age Categories & Weight Classes: Age and weight categories will be in accordance with CPU/IPF rules. Age categories: Youth 1 (8-9), Youth 2 (10-11), Youth 3 (12-13), Sub-Junior (14-18), Junior (19-23), Open (any age), Master I (40-49), Master II (50-59), Master III (60-69), Master IV (70-79) (Note: Master IV is male only) Female weight classes: 43kg, 47kg, 52kg, 57kg, 63kg, 69kg, 76kg, 84kg, 84+kg Male weight classes: 53kg, 59kg, 66kg, 74kg, 83kg, 93kg, 105kg, 120kg, 120+kg (Note: women’s 43kg and men’s 53kg only apply to sub-junior and junior competitors) Rules: All athletes are expected to understand and comply by the technical rules as defined by the International Powerlifting Federation: https://www.powerlifting.sport/rules/codes/info/technical-rules Classic and Equipped Powerlifting: As defined by the International Powerlifting Federation (IPF). Doping Control: The CPU follows the rules and regulations of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). By being a CPU member, you accept the possibility of being selected for doping control. You must complete the CCES True Sport Clean Course prior to competition day and show your certificate at weigh ins. Note: CPU cards can be purchased from www.powerlifting.ca, and must be purchased in advance of the meet. Refunds will NOT be available after the entry deadline (November 6, 2021) has passed.
