Renae Witzaney
Treasurer
Renae Witzaney is Treasurer of the CPU. She is responsible for bookkeeping, managing financial statements, and preparing tax forms each year. As a member of the Board of Directors, Renae also contributes to decision making at the national level.
Renae has been competing in powerlifting since 2012, and in addition to developing her own strength and skill, she’s brought her daughter along on the journey with her, who has been competing since the age of 7. It’s volunteering - whether that’s on the CPU board or as a meet director - that gives her the most pride, she says, as she loves aiming to “put on a perfect meet for all my lifters and help introduce new lifters to a positive and welcoming environment for their first meet.”
The CPU is important to Renae as it’s a place where she can be involved in the sport she loves in a number of capacities, from organizing to competing at the highest level of drug-tested powerlifting in the country.
When she’s not training, competing, or meet-directing, Renae runs her own public accounting practice in Kelowna, BC with a client base of nearly 200 businesses, individuals, and trusts. She also loves to spend her time crafting, making t-shirts, painting, and crocheting.
